Wayne, the son of the late George and Mae Bell Mangum was born on the 15th day of August 1945, in Apex, North Carolina. Wayne was one of six children born to this union. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joslyn Dewar, daughter, Tawanna Clyburn, and brother, Samuel Mangum.

Wayne departed this earthly life into everlasting life on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Rex Hospital.

Wayne graduated from Apex Consolidated High School in 1963.

Wayne gave his life to Christ and joined First Baptist Church in Apex, North Carolina.

Wayne was employed at Lufkin/Cooper Tools as a supervisor for over twenty years.

Wayne leaves to cherish in his memory: his wife, Jean Mangum; two sisters, Carolyn Mangum of Cary, NC, and Jewel Mangum of Holly Springs, NC; two brothers, George (Betty) of Raleigh, NC, and Eric of Holly Springs, NC; granddaughter, Brittany Clyburn; brothers-in-law, Wade (Jackie) Burt of Fuquay- Varina, NC, Andrew of Holly Springs, NC and Aaron Burt of Raleigh, NC; sister-in-law, Sonya Mangum of Holly Springs, NC; two aunts, Joan Woodard of Smithfield, NC, and Dinah Thomas of Washington, DC; Godson; Sam Mangum (Man Man)and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends

Visitation: 2:00 - 4:00 pm Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Trice Funeral Home Chapel, 127 N. West Street in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.

Funeral will be held 1:00 pm Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Trice Funeral Home Chapel, 127 N. West Street in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.

Burial: 10:00 am Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street in Raleigh, NC 27603.
