Obituary For Mrs. Iphagenia Smith

CANTON A homegoing celebration in honor of Mrs. Iphagenia "Almalee" Smith will be held Friday at 12pm at Deliverance Christian Center, 2631 Harvard Ave NW in Canton, OH. Mrs. Smith departed this life November 29, 2022 in Canton, OH. Mrs. Smith was born July 12, 1935 in Millersferry, Alabama to Eliza Jane Wimberly. Her family moved to Canton in the 1940’swhere she attended Canton City Schools and met the love of her life, Ivory C. Smith, Jr. To this union was born 8 children, plus one. Preceded in death by: her husband of 58 years, Ivory C. Smith, Jr.; and sons, Larry Williams, Gregory Williams and Peter Smith. Mother Smith leaves to cherish her memory sons, Ricardo (Vicky) Smith of Savannah, Georgia, Ivory C. Smith, III and Daryle Smith; daughters, Darlene Hawkins of Sandusky, Ohio and Elena Long; daughter-in-law, Theresa Williams; and Plus One, Yvonne (Kiko) Dinkins. Also a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Friday from 11am-12pm at the church.

I remember growing up on Waverly St Highland Park MI, and how you were apart of the Waverly Block Club as well as the other Mother's on the Block. Mrs. Smith was a gentle spirit of woman and how you were a mother to all the children on the block. You will be greatly missed here on this earth, but GOD nerds you more. Grandma!!! I knew this day was going to come one day where I would have to start living life without you. Whew girl you got me! I'm going to miss you like crazy. My heart aches because you are no longer here in the physical realm, however I rejoice and Thank God for you are free from pain. I love you grandma and thank you for being who you were to me and my family. You have truly been my rock!
