Gladys Gamble "Cooney" Jones

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Gladys Gamble Jones, who departed this life on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia, will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. from the Madison Avenue Church of God by Faith in Ashburn, Georgia, with the Pastor, Elder Larry Coffee, officiating, and Minister Melvin Whitsett delivering the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mrs. Gladys Gamble-Jones was born to the late Miss Lizzie Gamble and the late Mr. Henry Inman, Sr.

Gladys was educated in the Turner County Public School System.

At an early age Gladys professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined New Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

One December 06, 2022, in Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia, Gladys transitioned from her life here on earth to her heavenly home, surrounded by her family. Her parents, her husband, George Jones, her Common-Law husband, Howard Gay, a set of twin children, a great granddaughter, Amya Bateman, four sisters, Ola Mae Williams, Helen Gamble, Emma Jean Knight, Bobbie Jean West, two brothers, Henry Inman, Jr, Henry Lee Inman, and a special cousin, Velma Goodman, all preceded her in death.

Gladys, better known as “Cooney”, leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Tonja (Mario) Wilson of Ashburn, Georgia; her son, Xavier (Zetta) Terry of Ashburn, Georgia; six grandchildren, Demetrius(Latoya) Burgess, Christopher Bateman, Annessia (Nate) Martin, Austin King, Keshawn Hall, Alexandria Terry; eight great grandchildren; brother, Nathaniel aka Willie (Doris) Inman of Fitzgerald, Georgia;, a special cousin, Bessie Mae Floyd; two special friends, Bobbie Pickett, Theola Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends
