He worked for the New Cumberland Army Depot and the City of Harrisburg as a Park Ranger. He was a hard worker and offered love to all he knew. His laugh and humor were a loving trait he had and the memories we share of his life will forever be our hearts.
Melvin peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents Melvin was preceded in death by, one brother, Leroy (Dickie) and two sisters, Pamela, and Sandra and he leaves to celebrate his life his wife, Rita Jackson; his children, Willie, Emanuel, Rosa, Hope (Doug, Sr.,) and Melvin, Jr.; his siblings, Robert Jackson, Jr., Lilly, Amelia (Chris), Donald, Sr., (Desia), all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, De’Asia, Zaniah, Brandon, Bryanna, Rylee, Dayoni, Quinn, Doug, Jr. and Brielle; his goddaughter, Russhele; a host of nieces, nephews, so many valuable friends and special bro’s as he called them, Bruce (Moe, deceased), Robert (Turt), Rick, Larry, Ike, and Robert (Sonnyboy), his cousins, Mike Jolly, Lacotus (Proc) Ernie, Perry and Willie.
Melvin’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in the Sanctuary of Harrisburg First Assembly of God, 4100 N. Progress Avenue, Harrisburg with viewing 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
