Curly hair, golden skin, red lipstick and a high pitched voice. Michelle Deraina Watson was born on January 11, 1971 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Harlem, New York. She is the descendant of Carrie Martin and James Martin and the fraternal twin sister of Michael Deandre Watson. As a child, Michelle Ioved singing "O Happy Day" at Saint Andrews Baptist Church. Adopted in 1976 by Willie Watson, Michelle ruled the home with no competition from her brothers Sean, Troy, MichaeI and Donte. ln 1989 Michelle graduated from Watton Highschool in the Bronx. Red lipstick, gold earrings and colorful spandex. Michelle loved the colour red and she Ioved to wear spandex pants even though her twin brother Michael, stole her butt at birth, and left her with no backside. Flat back and a beautiful smite, Michelle shook what her mama gave her and wiggled the little cushion she had. A best friend to Madeline Tucker and Edith Torres. A sister cousin to Chyerel Coldwell, Natasha Campbell and Apple Jack. Michelle was family oriented and an inspiration to everyone she encountered. The first international chef in the family, Michelle enjoyed cooking American, African, Caribbean, and Hispanic cuisines white speaking Spanish to her nieces and nephews. She was a master at steaming rice and always created a side sauce for pairing. One of Michelle's proudest accomplishments was giving birth to her only child Manuel Gordon Watson Jr on April 29, 1991. "Beefa" was his nick name because he was always beefing and crying. Manuel she would yell while cooking, he too spoke Espanol and learned how to cook from watching his mother. Michelle was proud to see Beefa grew up to be loving, caring and protective of his mother. ln 1990 Michelle began a career in the nursing industry. Working as a certified home health aid, certified nursing assistant, and certified medication technician. Her patients became family and nursing was "top dollar." Michelle’s work attire matched her personality, and she never started a shift without a cup of coffee. ln 2001 Michelle moved to Hagerstown, Maryland and was named "Chicka with the ax" on the day she put an ax through a neighbor's porch for jumping her niece. While in Hagerstown, Michelle discovered Rocky's New York Pizza for everyone that visited and was the first in the family to grow a colorful vegetable garden consisting of yellow tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, cabbage, collard greens, onions, sweet corn and the biggest cucumbers you ever seen! ln 2013, Michelle began to care for her mother Carrie Martin full time while working as a nurse. An unapologetic, courageous, fearless Daughter, Mother, Sister and Friend. Michelle leaves behind parents Carrie Martin and James Martin. One and only child Manuel Gordon Watson Jr. Siblings Sean Martin, Troy Watson, Shanell Martin, Michael Watson, Loraine Cooty Watson, Lavale Watson, Elsworth Watson and JameI Martin. Adopted siblings Diamond Martin, Larnell Martin and Antigua Martin. God-Children Carmen Sencion, Michaet Dupree Jackson, Jayquan Tucker, and James Chu-Chu Geddie. Grandsons Angel Sencion and Kiemaj Watson and a host of tove ones from the Coldwell and Martin family. Michelle wilt be missed and always remembered!
