Obituary For James Edward Sullivan, Sr.

James Edward Sullivan, Sr., 95, of Richmond, passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at his home on December 10, 2022. He was born July 16, 1927 in Botetourt County, Virginia and was a long time resident of Roanoke, Virginia prior to moving to Richmond, Virginia in 2020. James was preceded in death by the love of his life, Cora Lewis Sullivan; son, James Edward Sullivan, Jr. and his mother, Martha A. Sullivan. Left to cherish is his memory are his "girls", Teresa Sullivan Goff of Alexandria, Virginia and Valerie Sullivan Rice of Richmond, Virginia; devoted daughter-in-law, Darlene Sullivan of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Alaina Goff (Paul Kingsley) and Aaron Goff of Alexandria, Virginia, Amaris Rice-Brinkley (Maurice) of Hampton, Virginia and Bryce Sullivan (Danielle) of Galloway, Ohio; great grandsons, Aiden and Gabriel Kingsley; his devoted Roanoke family, Robert Sullivan (Ester) and Gloria Brewer (Paul) of Roanoke, Virginia; beloved "Grand Dog", Riley Elizabeth Sullivan Rice; a host of other relatives and friends. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation and gratitude for the many expressions of love, kindness and concern shown to them during their time of bereavement. May God continue to bless each of you and keep you in His perfect peace. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Saints Committee in care of High Street Baptist Church, 2302 Florida Avenue NW, Roanoke, Virginia 24017.
