Betty Clark

Betty Jean Clark was born on July 26, 1944, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Cyrus and Effie Ford who both preceded her in death. Raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Betty received her diploma from Shortridge High School. She was certified with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and worked many years at Saint Vincent's Hospital as a Registered Vascular Technologist. In 1984, Betty moved to Kosciusko, Mississippi, and continued her education at Holmes Community College, where she received the degree of Associate of Applied Science.

Betty put on Christ in baptism early in her life and loved the word of the Lord. Her favorite Scripture was Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Throughout her life, she was very active with the church and with the Ladies' Ministries. Betty taught Sunday School and Wednesday Night Bible classes, presented at Women's conferences and retreats, participated in the Prison Pen Pal Ministry, and wrote several articles for the Magnolia Messenger, a Christian News Publicaiton.

Betty married Ronald Barnett, Sr., who preceded her in death. To this union she leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Norma Barnett Brown, Ronald Barnett, Jr., who preceded her in death, Steven Barnett, Sherri Barnett Clark, and Karen Barnett Parchman. She later married J.R. Clark, who preceded her in death. To this union, Betty gained three stepchildren, Theresa Wilkes, who preceded her in death, Margaret Teague, and Monica Smiley. Betty has 24 grandchildren, one brother Jerry Ford, who preceded her in death, one sister Mary Ford, and a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
