The days of honor and respect for our elders seem to have long passed. I remember Ms. Mae as she was dear to me and my Aunt Rosetta. She always made me feel like I was her daughter. This is heartbreaking. She's with the Angels now. Let's continue to pray for God's peace upon all of us who are still here 💜.

Aunt Mae would light up any room she'd walk into. Greetings from her always felt like a reunion- a big smile before she even got to you, with an even bigger hug, and her laugh... it was contagious and before you knew it, you too were smiling and laughing. You didn't have a choice. Aunt Mae left you no choice and she was a natural. During conversations with her, she would look at you closely occasionally fix your hair into place, or maybe clothing and she knew what you were really feeling even if you answered otherwise. Every single time. I know it is going to be difficult adjusting to visits back home without her and I wish we had more time with her because the world could use more of her today. That being said, there is always a lesson to be learned and your life demonstrated many. One I will be more intentional about is remembering that spreading love and kindness to others is free and the power it truly holds when the receiver gets to experience it. Hopefully we all paid close attention and will be encouraged to reciprocate. I'll truly miss Aunt Mae. Until we meet again.- Kadara
