Mr. McLaster Hobbs passed on Monday, December 12, 2022. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. at Trice Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Trice Funeral Home Chapel Interment will be in the Southview Cemetery. Trice Funeral Home of Thomaston is in charge of all professional services. Please keep the Hobbs family in prayer. Mr. McLaster Hobbs, more affectionately known as “Mack”, was born on July 4, 1950 in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia to the late Mrs. Queen Ether Hobbs and the late Mr. S. C. Leonard. He was raised by his uncle and aunt, Rev. T. W. and Irene Hobbs in Atlanta, GA. He was educated in the Atlanta Public School System, where he was also a high school graduate. He was a member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church where his uncle pastored for many years. Mac furthered his education and became a licensed cosmetologist. For many years, he was employed by Emory Hospital at the Emory Conference Center. He was joined in marriage to Mrs. Sally Carter who predeceased him in death. He was the father of three children, two of who preceded him in death, and the grandfather of four grandchildren. During his leisure time, he enjoyed grilling, listening to music, watching sports, especially the New Orleans Saints, and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two children, Kim Hobbs and Timothy Hobbs; two sisters, Janie Mae Walton and Marcia Johnson; and two brothers, Kenthron Chaney and Victor Chaney. On Monday, December 12, 2022, the Lord called his name. He answered and went home to eternal rest. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Mac leaves to cherish his memory one son, Rev. Carlos (Dawn) Brown of Macon, GA; four grandchildren, Riahanna McFee, Chyenne Brown, Iya Brown and Sereniti Brown; four sisters, Mrs. Matilda (David) Hatchell of Stockbridge, GA, Mrs. Paula Dawson, Mrs. Jonette (George) Hughley and Ms. Linda Leonard all of Thomaston, GA; two brothers, Mr. Jeffery (Mary) Hobbs and Mr. Clark Chaney both of Thomaston, GA; mother-in-law, Mrs. Louise Maines of Thomaston, GA; six step-children, a devoted niece, Mrs. DaVitta (Guerdy) Anexil of Conyers, GA; a devoted friend Ms. Rena Forbes of Atlanta, GA; and a host of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
