Funeral service for Roy Lawson, 76, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Reverend Clifford E. Jones will officiate. (Facial covering is required)

Mr. Lawson, who passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Canterbury Nursing Home in Phenix City, AL, was born July 26, 1946 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Monday, December 26, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required).

He leaves to cherish his memory: eight children, Matilda Newsome, Marilyn Newsome, Angelia Newsome, Michael Newsome all of Radcliff, KY, Roydrell Lawson, Cortez Lawson both of Smiths Station, AL, Maurice Lunford and LaShandra Lunford both of Opelika, AL; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Flo Bell Crittenden of Opelika, AL and Frances Gail Lawson Ingersoll of Crestview, FL; one brother, Johnny Lawson of Opelika, AL; two special friends, Marshall Lyles of Opelika, AL and Bobby Sanks of Salem, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friend.
