Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST Tuesday, January 3, 2023 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Ponce Deleon Johnson, officiating. Burial to follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. Visitation is Monday, January 2, 2022 from1-5 p.m. EST.
Julia Simpson was born June 19th, 1953 to Mittie Cobb and Lonnie Cobb, Sr. in Midway, Alabama.
Julia transitioned and entered the heavenly gates on December 26, 2022.
She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Nero Baptist Church of Midway Alabama. She was a graduate of Rebecca Comer High School class of 1972. She was a smart business woman and entrepreneur. If you could use one word to describe Julia it would be “FAMILY”. She was the backbone. She had a smile that brought joy to a room & always there in a time of need.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Torennia Cobb; parents, Mittie Cobb and Lonnie Cobb, Sr.; brothers, David Cobb, Henry Cobb, Berry Cobb, Jessie Cobb and Sammie Cobb.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Lonnie D. Simpson; daughter, Laketta Minger; grandchildren, Montavious Mathews, Corterrius Mathews, Deante Mathews, Miketta Robinson and Miran Robinson; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Fannie Cobb and Georgia Phillips both of Phenix City, AL; brother, Lonnie (Vivian) Cobb, Jr. of Phenix City, AL and a host of other relatives and friends.
