Obituary For Shawntea D. Harrell

Shawntea Darnelle Harrell was born Oct 28, 1982, in Brooklyn, New York To Robin Harrell and the late Andrew Brown. She was the great granddaughter to the late Clara Gray.

Shawntea graduated from Martinsville High School in 2001 and received her license as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2005. She served as a nurse for many years at Blue Ridge Nursing home, she worked the last few years at Kings Grant and provided private nursing assistance as well. Shawntea was an amazing sister/friend/ cousin and loved on so many of their children. She would’ve been an amazing mother to Miguel and gave him all the love and more she poured into everyone else’s children. As a family we will do our best to keep her memories alive and raise her son with guidance from The Lord.

She is survived by her son, Baby, Miguel Allen. G Harrell, Mother; Robin Harrell of Martinsville, Virginia; Sister’s; Kenyetta Harrell of Brooklyn, NY, Denise Harrell of College Park, GA, Andrea Brown of Brooklyn, NY, Kimberly Harrell of Brooklyn, NY, Yolanda Harrell of Martinsville, VA, Selrena Harrell of Charlotte, NC, Alisa Brown of Savannah, Ga and Samantha Chestnut of Savannah, Ga. Brothers; Late Robert Eugene Harrell Jr(Nubby), Late, Andrew Harrell, Rasheem Harrell of Atlanta, Ga, Lawrence Harrell of Brooklyn, NY, Dereck Esquerdo of Orlando, Fl and Naheem Esquerdo of Orlando, Fl. She leaves behind aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends to cherish all her wonderful memories.

A visitation service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Progressive Prayer Temple, 64 Cameron Dr., Martinsville, VA with Bishop Eugene E. Ramos, Sr., Eulogist. Burial will be private. Viewing will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of her sister, Yalonda Harrell, 207 Wilson St., Martinsville.

I remember my niece as a little girl loving to read she was so happy when we went to the library so she could pick out some books to read and thank me for helping her get her first library card! I will miss her so much I love you my Shanie❤️❤️
