Obituary For Marie C. Young

The graveside services for the late Mrs. Marie C. Young, of 501 Hodge King Dr., Ashburn, Georgia, who departed this life on Tuesday, January 2, 2023 at Pruitt Healthcare in Fitzgerald, Georgia, will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Words of Comfort will be given by Pastor Nick Hillery. Mrs. Marie “Ree” Young, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy and Ethel Sanders Scott, was born on August 7, 1941 in Charleston, South Carolina.

Marie was educated in the Charleston, South Carolina Public School System. She confessed her life to Christ and joined the New Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Jessie Lee Young, Jr. in 1992.

On January 2, 2023, Marie gave up this busy walk of life on earth and made her transition to her Heavenly Home. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Marie leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Marilyn (Paul) McCoy, Lisa (Javier) Jackson, Cylia Madison, all of Ashburn, Georgia; two sons, Anthony Scott, Clinton (Nicole) Scott, both from Charleston, South Carolina; grandchildren, Lamario Shepard, Tyesha Hall, Diannette Scott, Kimberly Marshall, Zelda Scott, Jared Jackson, Donte Jackson, Dorien Jackson, Jessica Carter, Otis Derrick Madison; twenty-five great grandchildren; special friends of the family, Bernadette Chatfield, Ashley Stafford, and a host of other relatives and friends.
