MR. CLIFFORD RAY BONDS – Age 72, of Stone Mountain, GA formerly of Dalton, GA passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023. He was born April 23, 1950, in Chatsworth, GA to his late parents, James Bonds, Jr. and Julia Mae Washington Bonds. As an adolescent he was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Chatsworth, GA, and later served as a member of Rainbow Park Baptist Church, Decatur, GA. As a member of the basketball team, he graduated from Westside High School Class of 1968. He later attended Albany State University, while meeting his faithful and loving wife, Glenda Melton Bonds. After establishing their home in Atlanta in 1973, he focused on his career as a Loan Officer. In 1983, he proudly served his country and joined the United States Army as a Supply Officer. Following his honorable discharge from the military, he returned to the Finance Industry. He enjoyed sports, traveling, trying new restaurants, playing lottery, and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gwendolyn Bonds Fain.

Clifford is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Glenda Melton Bonds; daughters, Keisha Bonds Carter and Chulrae Bonds Proctor (Edward Jeffries); grandchildren, Kyle Carter, Antonio Proctor, Jr., Kori Carter, and Callie Jefferies; sister, Joanne (Eli) Ellington; uncles, Clarence Bonds and Lewis Washington; aunts, Wilma Bonds and Bonnie Palmer; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 12:00 Noon at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 2014 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Dalton, GA 30721. The family will receive extended family and friends on Saturday at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour. Interment, West Hill Cemetery, Dalton, GA.
