Sister Dollie Wilson was born April 1, 1929 in Mayesville, South Carolina to the late Joseph Burgess and Irene Burgess. She was the second of eight children born to this union. Dollie accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age attending Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church in Mayesville, South Carolina.

There she met the love of her life, George Washington Wilson, Sr. They united in Holy Matrimony on December 23, 1942. To this blissful union, eleven children were born. In 1957, along with their children, the family moved to Fort Pierce, Florida. They joined First Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C. Byrd where Sis. Wilson served faithfully as an usher.

Dollie along with her husband opened Wilson’s Grocery Store which is still in operation today after 54 years. In 1980, under the leadership of Rev. Major Highman, Sister Wilson and her family became founding members of Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Sis. Wilson loved her family. She also loved to travel, fish, and work in the garden until her health no longer permitted.
