Obituary For Joseph Simpson III

(April 24, 1950 --January 2, 2023)

TYLER -- Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Simpson III, 72, of Tyler, Texas will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 12 noon in the sanctuary of North Star Baptist Church with Dr. Jerard Mosley, eulogist. Burial will be at a later date in DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.

Mr. Simpson was born on April 24, 1950 in Fayetteville, North Carolina and transitioned on January 2, 2023 at Hospice of East Texas.

After attending Woodward High School, Mr. Simpson graduated from Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Simpson was a resident of Smith County for over 10 years. Mr. Simpson was a resident of Smith County for over 10 years. He was a member of New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Cincinnati and later became a member of North Star Baptist Church. He was a skilled laborer and served in the United States Navy.

Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his father: Joseph Simpson Jr. and brother: Wayne Simpson. He is survived by his spouse: Deborah Simpson and his mother: Doretha Simpson both of Tyler; sons: Joseph William Simpson, De'Andre Simpson, Anthony Simpson; daughter: Amber Simpson of Ohio; Brother: Anthony Simpson Sr. (Roxanne) of Tyler, Texas; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of treasured nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing would be Friday, January 6, 2023, from 2 p.m to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
