Frank was born on June 7, 1953, in Catawba County, North Carolina to Dorothy Hunter Graham. He was a member of Overcoming by Faith Ministries in Savannah Georgia. There he was an active member, serving faithfully on the Usher team and participating in several ministry groups.
He was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Public School system and graduated from Harry P. Harding High School. After graduation Frank attended Winston Salem State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in History and Political Science.
Frank worked with IBM for several years and American Airlines. Most recently he worked with O’Darbys in Rock Hill, making many friends while working there.
He was inducted into the Mu Epsilon Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. at Winston-Salem State University. Brother Shipp enjoyed fellowshipping with his fraternity brothers as often as he could.
Frank enjoyed collecting black art, unique light houses and listening to music. He was no stranger in the kitchen, as he loved to cook. Frank enjoyed traveling, particularly Belize and never shied away from a political discussion or debate.
Frank was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Graham. Affectionately called by his family, “Rundy” “Brother”, and “Shipp” he leaves behind three sons, and a daughter, Mr. James McNealy (Sasha) Maryland, Mr. Cameron Shipp, (Richelle) Texas, Dr. Jared Shipp, Texas and Christin Hogg (Kristopher), North Carolina, his mother, Dorothy Graham, 2 sisters, Robin Hunter and Mary Sampson (Carl), four grandchildren, and a host of aunts, cousins and dear friends.
