Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: And the fruit of the womb is His reward. (Psalm 127:3) Madea, Aunt Tinnie, Mother Tinnie, Granny and Great Grandma were a few of the names earned over the years by the reward bestowed on November 25, 1926, in Cropwell, Alabama, to Henry Olen Threatt and Carrie Singleton Threatt by way of the birth of a daughter, Tinnie Lavonia. Tinnie accepted Christ at an early age and at the time of her passing, Mrs. Green was the oldest living member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Cropwell. She loved the Lord and throughout the years served him in the capacity of usher, mission society member and sang in the senior choir. She received her education in the St. Clair County School System. Once Tinnie entered the working world, she found employment with the Pell City School System and served as a caretaker for those in need of her touch of tender loving care. When Tinnie was not working or caring for her family and others, she enjoyed fishing, cooking and baking. She also volunteered with the New London Neighborhood Watch where she helped prepare and serve breakfast for the community. She enjoyed playing scrabble and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.

Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, And obtaineth favour of the Lord. (Proverbs 18:22) On December 7, 1946, Herbert Green sought the favour of his Lord and Savior and took the hand of Tinnie Lavonia Threatt in holy matrimony until death did they part upon his passing on May 1, 2008. Their union was blessed with two children, Rosea and Arthur.

Tinnie left behind a legacy of love in the heart of her loving and devoted son, Arthur G. (Dollie) Green; four grandchildren, Roderick Shepard, Pamela Green, Tamela (Bruce, Sr.) Chaney and Tina Green; eight great grandchildren, Tiara Shepard, Demari Shepard, Siobhan Shepard, Miles Green, Akeia Green, Tatiana Chaney, Zykeria Green and Zy’Kei Fluker; and one great-great grandchild, Ian Carter. She LostAnd Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:43)

On January 12, 2023, Tinnie was reunited in paradise with her beloved husband of 61 years, Herbert and their daughter, Rosea Mae. Additionally, the path had been traveled by her parents, Henry and Carrie Threatt; and nine siblings, Annie L. O’Neal, Robbie T. Frazier, Hasker Threatt, Singleton Threatt, Sarah Martin, Velma Threatt, Lindsey Threatt, David Threatt and Herschel Threatt.
