HER STORY

Readda Mae Moore, 79, born July 29, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Readda Moore was a God-Fearing woman. She was also a mother, friend, mentor, confidant, supporter, defender, and sustainer. Readda was selfless-always willing to help her family and anyone in need. The Moore Family will tell you Readda was known for sound advice. She always gave you the dose of reality you needed but gave it a loving twist where you knew she was sincere.

Readda Moore was the firstborn of two girls Mr. James Craig and Ms. Georgia Jones. She is survived by a sister of one: her beloved sister Genell Pagan. A mother of six; James Moore, Debbie Starks, Gayla Moore-Davis, Annette Drumgole and husband (Anthony Drumgole), Pamela Moore, and Rosa Scott Shannon; five girls and one boy whom she poured love into. A grandmother of eleven; Tawanna Starks, Anthony Smith, MyHoney Strickland, Crystal Moore, Justin Clark, Kelly Spratley, Travis Keshinro, Chelsy Moore, Morriyo Waller, Branden Shannon, and MiKayla Shannon; who she instilled morals and values in and a great grandmother to Ajia, Trinitee, Rhianna, Kellia, Corey, and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved unconditionally.

Readda always loved to cook and her favorite pastime was watching westerns, action movies, and sipping on a cold Sprite. However, she always knew the plot, who did it, and why, and quick to tell you the ending of the movie 30 seconds in. Readda left a legacy of love and a long life well lived.

We are so blessed to have experienced a woman like Readda. She was the anchor of the Moore family and the glue that held us through any problem we faced.

Readda had unfathomable love and was a woman of many talents. She was the type to walk in a room sharp as a tack and would always let it be known that she’ll kill a rock about her kids. As we all know after this Moore, ain’t no Moore.
