Funeral service for James Walter Buford PGER 89, will be Saturday, January 21, at 11 am at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Walter Solomon, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery.

Mr. Buford passed away on January 11, 2023. Mr. Buford's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. Mr. Buford graduated from Cobb High School and later served in the US Army and later retired from the US Air Force. He served the community as a member of the Thomas A. Williams Elks Lodge #1668, Anniston. Survivors include his daughter: Anitra W. Spaulding; son: Trevor T. Buford; grandchildren: Rhatura M. Spaulding, Solanya F. Avery Spaulding, Sukanya C. Spaulding; siblings: Phillip N. (Henra F.) Davis, William J. (Brenda) Davis, Jr., Robert A. (Audra) Davis, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Lula Buford, Josie and John Trendwell, his wife, Alpha D. Buford, brother, Donald Jamison.
