Obituary For James L. Showers, Jr.

Mr. James Louis Showers, Jr., 24, of Collins, Mississippi passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in Covington county, Mississippi.

He is the son of Mr. James L. Showers, Sr. and the late Vinnie Mae Smith. He was a member of Powell's Ministry, New Hebron, Mississippi.

Mr. Showers was a culinarian who loved basketball, playing video games and spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2023 at New Hopewell Baptist Church, Taylorsville, Mississippi at 12noon. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by: father: James L. Showers, Sr. of New Hebron, MS; maternal grandmother, Pearlean Smith of Taylorsville, MS; paternal grandmother, Nell Walker of New Hebron, MS: brothers, Darius Smith of Covington, GA and Jamie Easterling, Sr. of Prentiss, MS; sister, Dr. Jamesia Showers Alford of Atlanta, GA.

Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home, 1-6pm.
