Obituary For Roy Campanella Christian

MR. ROY CAMPANELLA CHRISTIAN – Age 68, of Cartersville, GA formerly Calhoun, GA passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2023. He was born October 17, 1954 in Calhoun, GA to the late Eula Mae Bowden. He received his former education from the Gordon County School System. He was a member of First Corinth Christian Church, Calhoun, GA. He retired from Prater Ford where he worked for many years. He enjoyed visiting friends and family, detailing cars, and attending church services with his sisters. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Priscilla Bowden, Marsha Mitchell, and Linda Watts; brother, Buford Christian; niece, Rikkila Christian; nephew, Tyrese Bowden; brother-in-law, Chief Willie Mitchell.

Roy is survived by his wife, Phyllis Gainor Christian; loving children, Tanya Christian and Kaiser (Brittany) Simpson all of Dalton, GA; step children, Consuela (Erick) Diamond, Contessa Gainor, and Steven (Kerstin) Ross all of Cartersville; seven grandchildren, Ta’Kairick Chrisitan, Sai’Von Christian, Diemond Simpson, Domonique Simpson, Samya Simpson, Dionta Simpson, and Aiden Barnes; ten step grandchildren; brother, James Bowden of Calhoun, GA; special friend, Abbey Kemp of Calhoun, GA; special nieces, Nacole Fleetwood and Keira Watts Curtis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 1:00 P. M. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Claud Jones, Eulogist. His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour. Interment; Poplar Springs Cemetery, Adairsville, GA.
