Mrs. Claudette Atwater Middlebrooks was born on May 15, 1944, to the late Mrs. Easter Mae Traylor Atwater and the late Mr. Waldo Atwater. She received her early education in the public schools of Upson County. She was a very smart and bright student who was always on the honor roll. She was a member of A Place of Refuge Church in Thomaston, GA. When she reached adulthood, Claudette married Mr. Bennie Middlebrooks. To this union, three children were born. Her husband and two children pre-deceased her in death. She was employed as a spooler at Thomaston Mills. She also worked at Martha Mills/Wes Tex. Wherever she worked, she was always very productive. During her leisure time, she enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and cooking. She was proud of her sons and went out of her way to love and care for them. She would give her family her very last to help them. She also believed in helping others. Claudette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Danny Middlebrooks; and sister, Carrie Middlebrooks. On Thursday, January 12, 2023, the Lord call her name. She answered the call and went home to eternal rest. Claudette leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Mr. Bennie Lamar Middlebrooks and Mr. Steve Middlebrooks both of Thomaston, GA; one sister, Mrs. Geraldine Rutherford of Thomaston, GA; two brothers, Mr. Walter Atwater of Atlanta, GA and Mr. James Edward Napier of Anderson, SC; a devoted cousin, Mrs. Clara Robinson of Thomaston, GA; a devoted friend, Mrs. Marlene Hale of Thomaston, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends who will miss her dearly. Interment was held in Kendall Cemetery
