Marcella Mobley Dickson, wife of the late Bishop Nathaniel "Nat" Dickson, died on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Marcella was born in Morristown, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Willa Mobley.

Marcella was a nurse by profession. She spent years working in home health and nursing homes. Everyone she met she brightened their day. She was truly a woman of God, that exhibited so many fruits of the spirit. She will truly be missed.

It was with the union of Bishop Dickson, that she had twin girls, Narita Cathcart (wife of Jerald Cathcart) and Marita Murray (wife of Sabastian Murray). She had bonus children that she loved and that loved her. Her union with Bishop Dickson also blessed her with other children that she loved.

In addition to the twins, she is survived by sons, Norman Dickson and Anthony Dickson; daughters, Bernadette Snowden, Natalie Peoples and Monique Ragin; siblings, Dijon Mobley, Sylvia Clary, Ronald Mobley, Elvaretta Mobley, Gwendolyn Mobley and Tarrenze Mobley; grandchildren, Marquise Dickson, Norman Emmanuel Dickson, Jr., Bishop Cathcart, Deacon Cathcart, Jeremiah Cathcart, Zion Murray, Divine Murray, Zion Laney, Twan Morrison, Tyler Morrison, Tonya Morrison, Randy Dupree, Jr. and Beverly Stewart; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bishop Nathaniel Dickson, a daugther, Sharon "Vanessa" German, and a son, Nathan Dickson.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Bethlehem St. James United Methodist Church, 1139 Main Road, Johns Island, SC 29455.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 3PM-7PM in The Chapel of Peace at Walker’s Mortuary.

Marcella will be laid to rest along with her husband Bishop Dickson, in the M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson, SC.
