Guest Book

I met Pastor Noah Alexander Jr and his sister Judy on the campus of University of Memphis ( formerly Memphis State University) in 1968. Our backgrounds were similar being sons of sharecroppers in West Tennessee. Pastor wrote a book about the sharecropping experience for which he was previously ashamed like me. Our parents had expectations for us which did not include a life of sharecropping. Pastor Alexander and I begin preaching on the hood of his car while drinking a alcoholic beverage in 1969 ( Boone's Farm Wine). Pastor had frustrations with our dating lives since we desired to "pull" those girls out of our league. One statement resonates with me today which this pastor wrote published in bible study materials by National Baptist Congress of Christian Education USA Inc. "Get you burning before your learning". Seminary education is an academic exercise only unless enlightenment by the Holy Spirit activates in life of the student. This called the Rhema Word -There is more there than what is written o the page. Pastor Alexander visited my late Sister Jean Paulette Abbott Harris ( Chester Jr) in hospital in Jackson TN at my request winter 2021, a few months before she transitioned 5/30/2021. Blessings to all family and church family at Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church.
