Funeral service for Jimmie Smith, 69, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Harris Funeral Home Chapel, 515 South 6th Street, Opelika, AL 3680. Bishop Quinton Smith will officiate.

Mr. Smith, who passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023 at his home in Opelika, Alabama, was born December 30, 1953 in Lee County, Alabama.

He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Frances Smith of Opelika, AL; three children, Tromon (Tina) Smith of Valley, AL, Roderick (Jaquice) Smith of Opelika, AL and Felicia (Carlton) Lewis of Montgomery, AL; three brothers, Ira Smith (Teresa) of Camphill, AL, Perry Smith of Opelika, AL and Willie James of Ashtabula, OH; two sisters, Joann Tyner (Leroy) and Betty Jean Smith both of Opelika, AL; grandchildren, Jaquavious Bryant (Ashley) of Hazelgreen, AL, Royalty Smith of Valley, AL, Conner Smith of Opelika, AL, Radrekius Smith of Opelika, AL, Amarkeion Smith of Atlanta, GA, Jinaya Smith of Montgomery, AL, Jakell Freeman of Montgomery, AL and Jamell Freeman of Montgomery, AL; three great grandchildren, Santana and Aiden Bryant of Hazelgreen, AL and Kennedi Smith of Opelika, AL; and a host of family members and friends.
