MOTHER THELMA LOUISE GAY - Age 85, of Cartersville, GA passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023. Mother Thelma Louise Davis Gay, better known as "Auntise" who was born on April 27, 1937, in Oconee County, Georgia to the late Joe C. and Lois Middlebrooks Davis of Cartersville, Georgia. She was the oldest of ten children of this blessed union. On Saturday, January 21, 2023, Jesus kept his promise to Thelma when he said, "Where I am, there ye will be also." Thelma quietly surrendered this earthly life and peacefully entered into eternal rest, that knows no awakening except in the presence of God. In 1993, she decided to join Greater Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Reuben Judson Gay Sr; and daughter Mona Louise Evans; siblings Victoria Williams, Robert Lee Davis, Jo Ann Griffin, and Juanita Davis Philpot; grandchildren Kenya Winters, Baby Boy Evans, and 2 great-grandchildren Ashton Evans & Ariana Ransom; and brother-in-law Walter Griffin.

Thelma leaves to cherish her fondest memories: 6 children, Ruby Jackson, Dianne McCoy (Joe Frank), Lois Gay, Reuben Gay Jr, and Edith Shaw;12 Grandchildren, Malika Wilson, Mary Wilson-Joseph (Mirgill), Derek Evans, Melinda Wilson, April Ransom, Shanita Shaw, JoRessa McCoy, Marketta Gay, Bryson Gay, Jenise Gay, Ashley Evans, and LaQuana Shaw; 9 great-grandchildren, Reshay Pratt, Nyla Crockran, Alayah Evans, Jebreon Gay, McKinsey Gay, Ayianna Collier, Desmond Joseph, Alivia Ransom, and Kimora Seldon; 1 great-great-grandchild, Kwesi Brown; Siblings, George Davis, Mary Louise Davis, Annie Bell Davis Ledbetter, Charlie Davis (Patricia), Marvin Davis; Sister-in-Law, Priscilla Davis; a special cousin Fannie Wilhite, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives, church family, and friends. "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Homegoing celebration held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Greater Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. 1 Mt. Olive Street, Cartersville, GA 30120. The family will receive friends Friday, January 27, 2023 from 6:00 P. M. - 7:30 P. M. at the church. Interment, Oak Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, GA.
