I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Matthews. I met him when he volunteered at the Tuscaloosa VA. He had the voice of an opera star and was a master gardener. She often brought produce from his garden to our staff members and patients. Mr. Matthews was truly a blessing to so many of our Veterans. Sincerest condolences to his family and friends. My Uncle Lewis who has been on my mind who's a veteran from the Army and a soldier of God demonstrated his conviction to God every time we visited he would play his piano in the morning and sing his Gospel song and like his sister my mother they love there breakfast.
