Obituary For Maggie Ilene Bronner Clark

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Maggie Clark, 101, of 117 Walnut Drive, Sylvester, Georgia, who departed this life on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at her residence, will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Macedonia Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia. Reverend Dr. Lester Knox, Pastor will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden in Sylvester, Georgia. Mrs. Maggie Ilene Bronner Clark was born on October 21, 1921, in Sylvester, Georgia, to the late Mr. Jonah Bronner and the late Mrs. Mary Magdalene Lockhart of Terrell County, Georgia. Maggie was the fifth of eight children.

In 1940, Maggie was united in Holy Matrimony to Arthur Lee Clark, Sr. This union was blessed with ten children.

Mrs. Clark accepted Christ at an early age. She later joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia. When she relocated to Donaldsonville, Georgia, Maggie fellowshipped with Saint John African Methodist Episcopal Church. When she returned to Sylvester, Georgia, Maggie reconnected her membership with Macedonia Baptist Church. She served as a faithful member of Macedonia until her health failed.

Mrs. Clark worked as a cook in Worth County Public School System School cafeterias until she retired.

All who knew her can truly say she was a virtuous woman. She had faith and believed in her Heavenly Father and trust Jesus until the end. Maggie was the matriarch of her family. She served her family and community with her time and her talents.

On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at her home in Sylvester, Georgia, Maggie Ilene Bronner Clark gave up this earthly realm to take her Eternal Rest. Her parents, her husband, two grandsons, Sabian Nico Watson, Samuel Tilton Reed, Jr., two granddaughters, Connie Laverne Rutland, Belinda Clark, seven sisters, Homer Mae Anderson, Evelyn Mulkey, Johan Mae Kelly, Lillie Pearl Cheevers, Lillie Dean Williams, Wynella Owens, Grovenia Hill, three sons-in-law, James Benjamin Villines, Sr., James Edward Moore, Charlie Calvin Jamison, and four brothers-in-law, Norver Lee Cheever, Sr., Neal Hill, Alfonso Williams, E. J. Owens, have all preceded her in death. Mother Clark leaves to cherish her memories her children, Gwendolyn Tiny Harrington, Wylene Clark-Moore, Thomas Royal Clark, Sr., all of Miami Gardens, Florida, Darene Clark, Zerry Ann (Bobby Joe) Williams, Mae Ruth Jamison, all of Donaldsonville, Georgia, Rachel Dean Clark of Sylvester, Georgia, Letitia Vania Villines, Violet Jane Clark-Williams, both of Decatur, Georgia, Robert Lee Clark, Sr. of Miami, Florida,; twenty-five grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; two devoted grandsons that she reared as her own, Robert Lee Clark, Jr. of Miami Gardens, Florida, Terrence Terrell Clark of Sylvester, Georgia; a very devoted nephew, Hilton (Virginia) Cheevers of Sylvester, Georgia, and her very devoted physician, Dr. Sarah Walker-Hampton and Dr. Hampton’s wonderful staff in Donaldsonville, Georgia.
