Dear Rian and Family, Please accept my condolences on the passing of your father. He was a driven, focused, social justice centric man who dreamed big dreams. His dream for you to be whatever your heart desires still rings true. He and I were relentless in our pursuit of equity and I remember pacing my driveway chatting strategy with him. I will miss his thoughts to action approach. Please know that we are here for you and will continue to be here for you going forward. God Bless you. Our prayers are with you...from our family to yours....Dr. Teresa Leary Handy and Phoebe L. Jenkins

Floyd was my fraternity big brother who inspired me as a young man to enter the major of Economics Finance. Floyd was a super intelligent individual who also inspired me to join his fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha, Mu Beta Chapter, University of Tennessee at Martin. I followed Floyd outstanding career which expanded and inspired individuals to be financially savvy to gain knowledge in wealth management for the betterment of mankind. Floyd exemplified the character structure to teach, educate and inspire others to hold faith, and goodness in our Almighty creator which will feed our soul full of joy, happiness and prosperity. Rest in peace my brother, you will be truly missed. Fraternal Love, Mark A. Newbill

Floyd was a special person in many ways; glad our paths crossed a couple of years ago. Tough but fair; always prepared and thoughtful. A good board member that any organization would like to have. I wish I had known him longer; it was clear to me that he had some loves in his life including his daughter and his fiancé. Our community will miss him. Mike Edwards

Floyd and I met at Central High school and he has remained one of the best friends that I have ever had. He has always been intelligent, kind, and honest. I have lost a great friend and the world has lost an amazing person. I will always remember the love and pride he had when speaking of his daughter, Rian. My thoughts and prayers are with all who knew and loved him. - Tampia Tate Jones

Floyd was a parent and trustee at St. Mary's Episcopal School. He was wise, kind, curious, and diligent. He loved his daughter and cared deeply about her education. He was unflappable and had a winsome demeanor. We will miss him. Albert Throckmorton, Head of School
