Obituary For Bobby Douglas

Mr. Bobby J. Douglas, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at his residence.

A service honoring his life will be held Friday, February 3, 2023. The service will begin at 11:30 am at Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home.

The burial will take place following the service at Carolina Biblical Gardens of Guilford, 5710 Riverdale Dr., Jamestown, NC 27282.

BOBBY JEAN DOUGLAS of Greensboro, NC, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. He was born September 12, 1954, to the late James Nash & Lucille Douglas, in Anson County. He quietly left with the same dignity in which he lived.

Bobby aka “Bip” attended Guilford County Schools and graduated from James B. Dudley High School. During his pursuit of life, he did long distance trucking, tax preparation, and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2016. He was a member of Reid Memorial CME Church. Bob loved the Lord and attended church regularly. He loved to read the Word and liked football. His demeanor was soft, he loved his family and was one of the few that knew the family lineage. The true historian. He never had an unkind word, and he had a great sense of humor.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents: James Nash and Lucille Douglas; his brothers: Walter Douglas, Levon Douglas; his sister: Debra Douglas; his uncles: Willie T. Douglas, J. C. Douglas, Jr., his aunts: Martha Bailey, Jeritha Douglas, Lilly Mae Cox, and Helen Douglas.

He is survived by his sons: Tyrone Thorpe of Savannah, GA and Tyrell Thorpe of Myrtle Beach, SC; his daughters: Mary Hollman and Martha Hollman, both of Greensboro, NC; his brother: Willie Thomas Douglas of Greensboro, NC; his sister-in-law: Fred Douglas of Greensboro, NC; his nieces: Tiffany Douglas, Katina Jefferies, Joi Douglas, Mia Douglas and Talea Chavis; his nephews: DeShawn Douglas, Hueston Jefferies, all of Greensboro, NC; his grandchildren; and a host of cousins.
