Melody Star (Mendenhall) Card McCurdy was born June 4, 1973. She passed January 26, 2023 at Hock Family Pavilion. A Celebration of Melody's Life will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, 3:00 pm at Cross Culture Church located at 1912 Page Road Durham, NC 27703.

Melody was preceded in death by her biological mother, Tonia Star Baker Dunn and siblings, Larry Douglas Dunn, Jr., Daniel "Danny" Dunn, William "Billy Joe" Dunn; and her adoptive father, Charles "CW" Mendenhall".

Those left to cherish her memory include: her husband, Thomas McCurdy; adoptive mother, Donna Kay Groves Mendenhall; sisters, Tammy Renee Barton, Donna Dunn Cates (husband Johnny), Ronda M. Porton (husband John); children, Tyler Card Mendenhall (wife Kourtney), Brandon Avery Dahlberg Porton, Olivia Batton Verlinden, Luke Granger, Laura Granger; and a host of extended family to include aunts, nieces, and cousins.
