Mr. Lonnie Bernard Carter, age 71, of Dorchester Drive Cross Hill, SC earned his wings on January 27, 2023 at Prisma Health of Greenville. Lonnie was an honorable member of the Marines for 10 years and of the Army for 9 years. He received two Purple Hearts for serving and protecting this country.

A graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and later from Piedmont Technical College. He loved everyone and was loved by everyone. Lonnie's hobbies included hunting, fishing, and the TV show Gunsmoke.

He will forever be loved by his wife of 42 years Mrs. Delosis Grant Carter of the home; his children: Jamie Hogue and Kesha Carter both in NC, Emmanuel Robinson and Jwan Robinson of SC; and Miatika Carter of GA. He then added Damion and Monique Grant of the home; 13 grandchildren with Tre and Darella being raised in the home and 1 great grand child. His siblings are: Madeleine (Book Washington), Danny Carter, Shonda Higgins all of NC, sisters' in law: Cordelia Rhodes and Cora (Silias Simpson) ; brother in law Ben Johnson and Benjamin Grant, a special friend James Wison and many other loving relatives and friends.

Mr. Lonnie's Celebration of Life was held on February 4, 2023 in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL. His final resting place is located in PINELAWN MEMORY GARDENS Clinton, SC.
