Obituary For Terry Lee Bailey

Terry Lee Bailey, 66, of Walnut Cove, NC passed Wednesday, February 1, 2023. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m.– 1:00 p.m., Saturday February 11, 2023, at Mary D. Perry Memorial Chapel (Perry-Spencer Funeral Home) Madison, NC. Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 p.m. with interment following at Baileytown Family Cemetery, Walnut Cove, NC. Mr. Terry Lee Bailey departed his life on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Winston Salem, NC. Terry was born to the late Harvey Lee Bailey and Sallie Elizabeth Lash Bailey on December 2, 1956. He attended the public schools of Stokes County and graduated from South Stokes High School in the Class of 1975.

He went on to attend Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. He worked at Brook Cove Tobacco Industries, Walnut Cove, NC and Halstead, Pine Hall, NC before entering the United States Army where he was until his honorable discharge and that was after he returned home from college. Later he was employed at Weiland Copper, then started his own Landscaping Service where he serviced many in the community and surrounding areas. Terry was very active in school with sports and was a Carolina Tar heel and Cowboy fan. He always loved to pick and joke around with his nieces and nephews and friends. He was his granddaughter “Amiriya” pride and joy, it was none other than her Poppy.

Terry was also preceded in death by three sisters; Allison L. Johnson, Faith B. Kirland and Harriet L. Rhodes, along with one brother; Armstead Keith Bailey and nephew, James Lash, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife; Vickie Smith Bailey of the home, two daughters; Brittany Bailey of the home, Tonda Bailey (Ashley) of Madison, NC, granddaughter; Amiriya Bailey of the home. Sisters; Donna Bailey of Walnut Cove, NC, Lauranne Caldwell (Joe) of Kernersville, NC, brothers; James Lash of Walnut Cove, NC, Lloyd Bailey of Madison, NC, brothers-in-law; Jeffrey Johnson of Madison, NC, William Rhodes of Winston Salem, NC, Graylyn Kirkland , John Smith (Cindy) all of Walnut Cove, NC, Ricky Wilson (Vickie) of Danbury, NC, sisters-in-law; Madge Priddy (John) of Walkertown, NC, Nancy Wilson, NC, Uncle Bobby Lash (Gwen) all of Walnut Cove, NC, Mary Webster (John) of Madison, NC, a special aunt; Sadie Joyce of Winston Salem, NC, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special relatives, his lifelong friends and very special friend, John Priddy.
