Obituary For John L. Parkman
Mr. John L. Parkman, 86, of Prentiss, Mississippi passed away Friday, February 3, 2023, in Picayune, Mississippi.
He is the son of the late John and Eula V. Parkman. He was a member of Springhill M. B. Church, Prentiss, Mississippi. Mr. John L. Parkman was a longshoreman and enjoyed traveling and gardening.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Springhill M. B. Church, Prentiss, Mississippi at 11am. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
He is survived by sons, Jerry B. Parkman, Gulfport, MS; Timothy A. Parkman, Ocean Springs, MS; daughters, Linda P. Lewis, Picayune, MS; Mary N. Parkman, Nashville, TN; brothers, Charles E. Parkman, Silver Creek, MS; Clarence Parkman, Las Vegas; sisters, Dorothy McNair, Jackson, MS; Sarah Parkman, Jackson, MS; Mary Catherine Clark, Metairie, LA; 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2023, at Johnson Funeral Home, 1-6pm; Saturday at the church, 10-11am.

Mary, Linda, Jerry and Tim — I extend my deepest condolences to you and the entire family. Growing up together in the same neighborhood, church, schools, etc. I feel like we have truly been like family for long time. Your dad was such a kind person. He always made sure we arrived to our destination safely for youth trips, walked the perimeter with my dad to protect us all during church services, and gave hugs to those of us that needed them.
