James Lee Twitty, affectionately known as “Pete”, 76, entered eternal rest on February 5, 2023. He was the son of the late Odessa Twitty Curry and the late James Jones. Pete was reared in the home of his late aunt, Mary Twitty Cousar.

Pete attended New Hope Baptist Church.

Pete was educated in the Lancaster County School System. He graduated from Hillside High School. He retired from Springs Industries after many years of service.

Left to cherish his loving memories are three sons, Chris Twitty of Lancaster, SC, James Twitty (Kendra) of Charlotte, NC and Jamie Twitty (Christine) of Rock Hill, SC; twelve sisters, Patricia Jones (Clifford), Gloria Thompson (Cleo), Catherine Jones, Renee Hoots, Ola M. Roseboro, Mary A. Brown, Judy Brown, Vanessa Twitty, Rhonda Modest (Patrick) Sarah Grider, Sharon K. Jones, and Carla Jones; three brothers, Lester Curry, Jr. Sammie Curry and Willie Curry; two aunts, Shirley Harris and Sandra Brown; five grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Stewart Funeral Home. Burial will be in the I.C. Clinton Cemetery. Reverend Jerusha Gaither and Minister Johnathan Twitty will conduct the funeral service.

Viewing will be 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Friday, February, 10, 2023 at the funeral home.
