A celebration of life for Dorothy Coleman, 80, of Childersburg will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Mt. Zion CME Church. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Ms. Coleman will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2022, at the funeral home.

On November 23, 1942, the Lord blessed Carl Coleman and Pauline Bledsoe Coleman of Talladega County with a daughter, Dorothy. Ms. Coleman was a life-long member of Mt. Zion Christian Methodist Church and attended faithfully until her health declined. She was a member of the 1961 graduating class of Phyllis Wheatley High School. She lived a life of service caring for her parents until their passing. When she was able, Dorothy enjoyed reading the Bible and once she was no longer able to do it for herself, she would listen attentively as others read the Bible to her. The Lord saw that Dorothy had gotten tired, so he called her to rest safely in his arms on February 9, 2023. She was reunited with her parents, Carl and Pauline Coleman; and her five siblings, Dennis Coleman, John L. Coleman, Amanda Player, Lessie Mae Cook and Lois Estelle.

Cherishing her memories are a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
