On Thursday, February 2, 2023, Annie Beatrice Rogers affectionately known as Bea, was called from labor to reward. Annie was born on March 28, 1933, in Stoneville, NC to the late Willie and Cornelia Moore. After graduating from Rockingham Public School System, Bea worked as a nurse for over ten years at Martinsville Community Hospital. Her desire to continue her education in the nursing field led her to New Rechelle, NY where she met and married the love of her life, the late Carrol William Rogers and they were united in holy matrimony for 47 years. They began growing their family early and she dedicated herself as a wife and mother until their youngest child started school. After which, Bea then returned to nursing and completed a 20-plus year career as an LPN at Kings Harbor Manor in Bronx, NY.
Bea was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. To know her was to love her and the joy she brought to everyone she touched. She loved the Lord with all her heart and it was nothing to find her morning, noon and night praying and reading her word. Bea was aq faithful and committed servant to the Lord. She was the epitome of grace and class. Her smile would illuminate a room. She was Queen Beaqtrice in every sense of the name.
Bea leaves to cherish her memories and six children; Dannie Rogers (Carmelita) of Portsmouth, VA, Tracy Rogers, Eden, NC, Dawn Rogers-Goins (Charles) of Eden, NC, Carrol Rogers (Jennifer) of Bronx, NY, Joyce Gomez (Steven) of WA, Cynthis Hawthrone-Williams (Sonny) of Poughkeepsie, NY, twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four sisters; Virginia Spencer, Dorothy Scales, Addie Jones, Mildred Hairston and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carrol William Rogers, parents; Willie and Cornelia Moore, three brothers; Thomas Moore, fletcher Moore and Willie Moore, Jr., five sisters; Ida Dalton, Ethel Dalton, Erna Scales, Castella Centry, belva Watkins and one grandson, Dr. Brandon D. Rogers.
