Dr. Gerald Bernard Hinson

Dr. Gerald Bernard Hinson, the first-born son of Prince E. Hinson, Jr and Ann Jones Hinson passed away in his sleep February 15, 2023. He was born March 2, 1955, in Eustis, Florida. He attended FAMU High School from 1st through 12th grade. Academically, Gerald was an Honor student and was a member of the Honor Society. He was elected as Senior Class President. Athletically, he was chosen First Team All-State in Football. In basketball, he led the team to the 1973 Class A State Championship. He was selected as First Team All-State in Basketball. He received a BS degree in Accounting from Florida A&M University School of Business and Industry in 1977. In 1982, he received an MBA in International Exports from the Wharton School of Finance in Philadelphia, PA. In 1994, he received a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University in Management Information Systems. In 2005, Gerald opened On-2 Music Production Studio in Tallahassee to pursue his true love in life, music. He is survived by his loving parents, Prince and Ann Hinson; his devoted fiancée, Andrea Hall-Spencer; his sons, Trent and Aaron Hinson of NJ; two brothers, Prince Hinson III (Wetonia), of Gainesville, FL. and Terence Hinson (Shanee’), of Tallahassee, FL, and a hosts of loving aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and cherished friends. Funeral service will be 12 (Noon) Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Bethel M.B. Church with burial at Oakland Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. with a wake service from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. both at Strong & Jones Chapel Friday, February 24, 2023.
