Hullett Lumpkin II, affectionately known as “Hue”, “Lump”and “Zack”, received his formal education in the Susquehanna Township School District. He was a 1982 100 Meter Relay Champion in the state track meet representing Susquehanna Township. He joined Job Corp in Baltimore, Maryland to complete his high school diploma and to learn a welding skill which led to him working for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Steelton, Pennsylvania for at least a decade. He later became a member of the Chosen Friends Lodge No. 43 Prince Hall Mason on February 12, 2012.
He was united in holy matrimony to Hope Motley. Hope had two daughters, Brandy and Debra and their union was blessed with the birth of Hullett K. Lumpkin III. Hullett II was a loving and faithful father who cherished his children and was man enough to support and care for children that were not his.
Hullett II was an avid NFL Raiders fan. GO RAIDERS! Before his illnesses, he regularly donated blood at various blood donating locations throughout Harrisburg, PA.
Just like his late father, Hullett II also struggled with lengthy illnesses, but gave it his all. We know that the Lord knows Hullett Lumpkin II's name and the Lord has called him to be by his side.
At the age of 60 years and 19 days, Hullett Lumpkin II departed this life on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hullet Lumpkin, Sr. on May 2001 and his mother, Charlotte A. Riley Lumpkin on June 23, 2021. He leaves to cherish memories of him, his son, Hullett K. Lumpkin III of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his stepdaughters, Brandy and Debra Motley both of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his only sibling, Vennie D. Jones of Maryland; his only niece, Joy T.J. Riley of Georgia and a host of Riley family members in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC as well as a host of Lumpkin family members in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Albany, Georgia.
His life will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Friday, February 24, 2023 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and burial in Paxtang Cemetery.
