Obituary For Hullett Lumpkin II

Hullett Lumpkin II was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the union of the late Hullett Lumpkin, Sr. and the late Charlotte A. Riley Lumpkin.

Hullett Lumpkin II, affectionately known as “Hue”, “Lump”and “Zack”, received his formal education in the Susquehanna Township School District. He was a 1982 100 Meter Relay Champion in the state track meet representing Susquehanna Township. He joined Job Corp in Baltimore, Maryland to complete his high school diploma and to learn a welding skill which led to him working for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Steelton, Pennsylvania for at least a decade. He later became a member of the Chosen Friends Lodge No. 43 Prince Hall Mason on February 12, 2012.

He was united in holy matrimony to Hope Motley. Hope had two daughters, Brandy and Debra and their union was blessed with the birth of Hullett K. Lumpkin III. Hullett II was a loving and faithful father who cherished his children and was man enough to support and care for children that were not his.

Hullett II was an avid NFL Raiders fan. GO RAIDERS! Before his illnesses, he regularly donated blood at various blood donating locations throughout Harrisburg, PA.

Just like his late father, Hullett II also struggled with lengthy illnesses, but gave it his all. We know that the Lord knows Hullett Lumpkin II's name and the Lord has called him to be by his side.

At the age of 60 years and 19 days, Hullett Lumpkin II departed this life on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hullet Lumpkin, Sr. on May 2001 and his mother, Charlotte A. Riley Lumpkin on June 23, 2021. He leaves to cherish memories of him, his son, Hullett K. Lumpkin III of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his stepdaughters, Brandy and Debra Motley both of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his only sibling, Vennie D. Jones of Maryland; his only niece, Joy T.J. Riley of Georgia and a host of Riley family members in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC as well as a host of Lumpkin family members in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Albany, Georgia.

My condolences! My memory of Zack is when he was teaching me how to drive his Saab which was a stick shift in the Farm show parking lot. The cops actually approached us and told me to slow up a little. RIP my friend! JDW

Hullett Lumpkin, I am still at a loss. HARD to believe you are gone. Visiting you daily at the hospital hurt my heart. God needed you more than the people here in this world. You and I have had our moments, good and bad..we finally managed a way to work through the bad, and im so happy for that. Knowing you for 22 plus years and being married to you for 14 years..Will be something I will cherish, we have and had our story. We raised 2 beautiful girls and had our own son. Thank you for our son. Heblooks just like you. I appreciate all your efforts and love you had given to us. You did your best and plus some. No one will take that away. We have our memories, no one will take that away from us. You will always be in my heart. No one will take that away from me. You are at peace now. Your are our children's and grandchildrens angel. We love and will miss you dearly. Rest east. Hope Lumpkin 💙
