Mr. Jerome Gussie Sullivan was born on August 13, 1950 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Gussie Sullivan and Clara Mae Nesbitt . He graduated from Hendersonville High School and went on to play basketball for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. He retired from Billy Copeland Concrete Services in Spartanburg, SC.

He is survived by his life partner, Patra Lee Wilkins-Sullivan, daughter Sedoni Marias Sullivan; grandchild Silas Adonis Jerome Sullivan, step-son Andre’ L. Tate and step daughter-n-law, Jamile L. Tate, grandchildren, Andrea L. Tate, Naomi J. Tate, Andrew L. Tate, and 4 great granddaughters all of Spartanburg, SC; his daughter Nicole Celeste Sullivan of Atlanta, GA with his ex-wife, Carmen Rodriquez of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Nicole Quamese Sullivan, Quamarion Montez Billups, Arizona Seymari Orr, Lyric Cameron Orr, Prince Amari Orr, and Kingston Tyjar Johnson of Atlanta, GA. His daughter Shaunta Michelle Mcilwain with Monica Mcilwain, grandchildren, Michayla Aniyah King, Michael Shawn King Jr., Jaxon Amir Mcilwain, Amari Derai Peterson and Alaska Michelle Peterson of Winston-Salem, NC. His siblings, Jewell Sullivan, ReVonda Sullivan, Prince Sullivan, Cedrick Sullivan and Pernelle Sullivan all of Spartanburg, SC; and a great host of nieces, special Lakeyetta L. Sullivan, nephews, cousins and friends; of Spartanburg, SC and Hendersonville, NC.

He was preceded in death by: his son Jerome Dayton Sullivan also with ex-wife of Hendersonville, NC, survived by granddaughter Epiphany A. Hardimon and great-grandson Ty Hill Jr. of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Gleason and Kelton Sullivan of Spartanburg, SC.

Service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Livestream will be available on Facebook on the TEEFERGUSONREPORT.
