Obituary For Lorenzo James Williams

A home going celebration for Lorenzo James Williams, 69, of Alpine will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Reverend Clint Walker will deliver the eulogy. Visitation for Mr. Williams will be held from 1-7 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the funeral home.

Lorenzo James Williams was the first child born to George and Mildred Williams on August 23, 1954, in Sunflower, Mississippi. He came to be known as a loving son, father, companion, uncle and cousin that will be sorely missed.

At the age of 2, Lorenzo and his family migrated to Chicago as his parents sought a better life for themselves and their children. The family worshipped at their local Kingdom Hall. Lorenzo attended Mason Elementary School and continued his education at Farragut High School. He furthered his education by receiving training in brick masonry and HVAC repair. He had a love for singing and sports with a deep passion for basketball.

Lorenzo transitioned into eternity on the morning of February 25, 2023 under the care of the doctors and nurses of Coosa Valley Medical Center that worked tirelessly to sustain his life, but God knew best. He joins in eternity: two sons, Darren and Cornelius; his parents, George and Mildred Williams; and four siblings, Clyde, Roslan, Rosemarie and David.

The memories of Lorenzo will forever be cherished by: his companion and friend, Dortha Latham; five children, Wayne (Shannon), Tawana, Edwina, Brice and Lorenzo; ten siblings, Linda, George, Jr.(Nataki), Priscilla, Andrea, Patricia, Darlene, Michael, Jerome, Pam and Rose; twenty-six grandchildren and one great grandchild; the Chatman family; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.
