Elizabeth was born on December 5, 1948 to Robert and Ella Mae (Wesley) Walker in Jefferson County, Georgia. She grew up in Georgia where she graduated high school and then moved to the Quad Cities. In 1968, she was united in marriage to James Johnson in Rock Island where they made their home and raised their sons.
Elizabeth was one the first people hired at Friendship Manor, starting her career there in 1977 when they opened. She was a dedicated employee who worked in the cafeteria for 38 years until her retirement in 2015.
She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church.
Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Tyree Johnson and Montell Johnson; siblings, Ollie Mae Brown, Cora Walker, Donald Walker, Price Walker; grandchildren, Sabaz D. Johnson, Selena C. Johnson, Sh’Tya Rockwood-Johnson, and Ty’y’licia E. Johnson; great-granddaughter Az’ys’riaa Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Evelyn Cotton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Dora Mae Lofton, Louvenia Wright, Bernice Williams, Robert Walker, and LeRoy Walker; and a granddaughter, Nataliah Johnson.
