Obituary For Mr. Willie Carey Lane

Mr. Willie Carey Lane affectionately known as β€œBobby” was born February 9, 1944 to the late Mr. Roosevelt B. Lane and Mrs. Eva Mae Donaldson Lane. He attended cook County Training School.

He confessed Christ at an early age and helped start The Lane Brothers of Adel, Georgia. He met and married the late Mrs. Elizabeth Patterson Lane and started a family, two children was born Rickey Lane and Rosie Lane.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents,; two brothers Roosevelt Joe Lane and Eulyses Lane; two sisters Annie Grace Lane and Annie Jean Lane; grandson James C. Daniels Jr.

On Wednesday, March 1, 2023, Bobby transitioned from this life to resting in the arms of the Lord at the age of 79.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his son Rickey Lane (Parnetha); daughter Rosie B. Scurry; grandchildren Kendra Scurry, Darrius Scurry; great grandchildren: Jerrika Small, Erica Small, Eric Small, Jr., Kenlani Scurry (Chocolate), Kentavious Scurry (Carey), Janae Daniels; brothers Robert Lane, Johnny L. Lane (Lucille), Edward Lane Sr. and cousin/brother Claude Lane Jr. (Jo Ann); a special friends Laura Booker and Evon Martin (Teanisha Martin) and a host of 1st cousins, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside service for Mr. Willie C. "Bobby" Lane will be held on Saturday, March 11 at 12:00 Noon at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Marcus Haynes, officiating. The family has requested that any donations, meals, etc. to be delivered to 2486 Riverside Road, Valdosta on Saturday morning. For your comfort at the service, please bring your lounge chair.
