Adam accepted Christ at an early age and joined Felderville AME Church in Santee, SC.
Adam was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County and was a 1971 graduate of Elloree High School. He was a school bus driver for many years. He was also one of the lead singers of the Gospel All Stars of Santee, SC.
Adam was joined in holy matrimony to the late Sarah R. Clark Hill for 51 years, who preceded him in death.
Adam was a very quiet man with a big heart who smiled with everyone he came in contact with. He was known to be a handyman who took quality time to complete his tasks. His hobbies were gardening, cooking pork shoulders on a pit, cooking boiled peanuts and collard greens, and fishing.
Adam was a hard-working man who took care of his family. He worked at Elloree Veneer Company as a machine operator from 1972 until the plant closed in 2001. He was also a maintenance tech at Santee State Park from 2001-2015, when his health began to decline.
He was preceded in death by four sisters: Rubell, Joanne, Margaret Ann and Rosa; and three brothers: Willie, Raymond, and Capers.
Adam leaves to cherish fond memories: one son, Phillip (Aswanda) Hill of Vance, SC; two daughters: Sandra H. (Otis) Adgerson of Santee, SC, and Keyona Hill (Antoine Whitmore) of Elloree, SC; one granddaughter: Keypharris Wright of Elloree, SC; three grandsons: Amonte Keitt and Amarquis Hill both of Santee, SC and Benjamin Hill of Vance, SC; one great-granddaughter, Karsten Wright of Elloree, SC; two sisters: Betty Hill of New York and Martha Hill of Virginia. Two brothers Albert (Thelma) Hill of New York and Ezikel (Emma) Hill of Summerton, SC; sisters-in-law: Annette (Willie) Palmer and Gloria Shivers both of Santee, SC, Dorothy Zimmerman and Keshia Oliver both of Blythewood, SC and Juanita Livingston of Orangeburg, SC; brothers-in-law: Donnie Oliver and Richard Oliver both of Santee, SC and Christopher (Emily) Oliver of Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
To know Adam and his Personality was to love him. He will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 2:00pm- 6:00pm.
