THE BEGINNING- Harvey Lee Calhoun was born on November 18, 1949, to Ovell Calhoun and Josie Gooden Calhoun in Talladega County, Alabama.

EARLY YEARS- At an early age, Harvey accepted Jesus Christ and united with Kings Chapel Church in Alpine, Alabama. He was educated in the schools of Talladega County and was a graduate of Talladega County Training School. He briefly continued his education at Talladega College before enlisting in the United States Air Force on November 3, 1969. Mr. Calhoun served honorably until October 28, 1971.

BETTER DAYS- Harvey found love at a young age and on January 4, 1969, he took the hand of the former Mary Long in holy matrimony. To their union three children were born. After returning to civilian life, Harvey continued serving his country by becoming employed with the Anniston Army Depot. On May 19, 2005, Harvey retired from the depot with 35 years of dedicated service. When it became time to unwind from a day at work, Harvey found joy in gardening, flowers, welding, small construction projects and tinkering under the hood of cars that needed a little special touch by him. When it came to sports, Harvey was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and also we a supporter of the Atlanta Braves and the Auburn Tigers.

Harvey was a loving husband of 54 years to Mary Calhoun; caring father of three sons, Stevie (Kenyetta), Derrick (Cheryl) and Randall (Kristi); adoring grandfather of Brandy, Brittany, August, Kianna, Haley, Devin, Mikayla, Jadon and Alison; doting great grandfather of Christopher, Ashaunty, Jaden, Karter and Kashton; devoted brother to Bonnie (Ernest), Wanda and Vanessa; fond nephew of Jonathan and Mildred; and warmhearted uncle, other relative and friend to a host of others.

THE NEXT CHAPTER- On the morning of March 7, 2023, Harvey traded time for eternity at his residence. He was welcomed to his new home by his parents, Ovell and Josie Calhoun.
