Obituary For Arthur "Jackie" Martin

Mr. Arthur Lee Martin was born in Washington County Georgia, Feb. 13, 1958 to the parentage of Freddie Martin, Sr. and Ezeal Elizabeth Hunter.

He made his transition in Augusta, GA from labor to reward on March 5, 2023.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held in the Jones Chapel C.M.E. Cemetery, Bartow, GA.

He joins his mother and three siblings, Tony Martin, Freddie Martin and Titus Martin.

"Jackie" as he was lovingly called joined Peaceful Zion Baptist Church at an early age. He attended the Jefferson County Public School System, and for about 10 years worked at Thermo King Corporation. He later spent 20 years working as a welder at Iron Ax.

On April 6, 2003 He married his helpmate, the former, Leona Williams.

His memories will forever be etched in the hearts of his wife: Leona Williams Martin, Augusta, GA; his son: Fredrick Lambry, Wadley, GA: his stepchildren Applonia Hickson, and Henry Sanders IV, Augusta, GA, Ray Williams, Boston, Mass; his father and stepmother: Freddie (Cheryl) Martin, Wadley, GA; his step father: Horton Hollis, Wadley, GA; his Ronnie (Janice) Martin, Milledgeville, GA, Horton (Carolyn) Hollis, Jr, Wrens, GA, John (Keshia) Bland, Columbia, S.C., Eric (Asia) Martin, Philadelphia, PA, Gwendolyn Martin, Gussied Martin, Louisville, GA, Angie Sanders, Philadelphia, PA, his mother-in-law: Dorothy Williams, Wadley, GA; three nieces that was reared as his very own siblings: Torri Thompson, Nadia Curry and Loretta Hollins; sisters-in-law: Lyndia Martin, Linda (James) Johnson, Amagene Williams and Willie Williams, Wadley, GA, Kathy Jackson, Tennille, GA, Evelyn Williams, Augusta, GA, Charles Williams, Boston, Massachusetts; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, twenty-six step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren: several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
