Ms. Rachel Lowe Parker, 74, Marietta, Georgia, formally of Gadsden, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023. We ask that you please keep this family in your heart & prayers during their time of bereavement.
The Obituary - Ms. Rachel Lowe Parker was born January 23, 1949, to Kathryn Smith Lowe and Ross Lowe, Jr. in Gadsden, Alabama. She received her early childhood education in the Gadsden City School System before moving to New Haven, Connecticut. After relocating, she continued her education and graduated from Hillhouse High School.
Rachel loved to be around the people she loved and loved her. Her favorite thing to do was to go to the casino with her friends and play the slots. Rachel was a woman that loved to help people, that is why she pursued a career at Yale New Haven Hospital as a Companion to terminal patients. Rachel retired from Yale New Haven Hospital in February of 2015 and moved to Austell, Georgia to be with her son, Lonnie and daughter, Lisa where she lived her best life and was spoiled rotten.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Smith Lowe; father, Ross Lowe, Jr.; brother, Michael Wayne Lowe; three sisters, Constance Lowe Chisolm, Kathryn Lowe West and Phyllis Lowe.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories: her loving son, Lonnie M Jackson, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Lisa Jackson; her one and only granddaughter, Lonisha Jackson; grandson, Lonnie Jackson; two great grandchildren, Nunnally and Nolan Jackson; five sisters, Sandra Lowe Sanders of Gadsden AL, Diann Lowe Lesveu of Anchorage, AK, Delitah Lowe Hamilton of Buffalo, NY, Kim Lowe Lipsey of Clayton, MO and Paris Lowe James of North Carolina; three brothers, Randolph Smith of Los Angeles, CA, Tracy Lowe and Kenneth Lowe of Gadsden, AL as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 Noon Saturday, March 11, 2023 in the (Betty D. Robinson Chapel) of West Gadsden Funeral Home with burial in the Lincoln Hill Memorial Park.
In person condolences with the family will be 10:30 A.M. until time of service Saturday, March 11,2023.
