Michael Ray Evans, known to his siblings as "little Mikey”, and “Mike” to others was the son of Drew and Arbazell Evans Grills. He was born in Cleveland Ohio; moved with his mother to Warner Robins, Georgia in July 1984. After graduating from Northside High, he enlisted in the Army where he spent two years and received an honorable discharge. He attended Savanah State University where he pledged Delta Eta and later transferred to Gamma Zeta, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. at Fort Valley State University Michael, at the age of four was adventurous, he would sneak out of the house and tour the neighborhood alone. Everyone on our street knew and loved him. He had an engaging personality, was inquisitive, loving, caring, and always smiling. He faced life’s challenges with a smile. He never met a stranger and everyone that he met cared for him. He was a strong believer in family values. His children were his heart, where he went so did they. Mike loved to build and take things apart and try to put them back together. His passion and love for technology was discovered while in the Army. He eventually became an entrepreneur and started his own business while furthering his education in the Information Technology (IT) field. After closing his business, he worked for many companies (Fort Valley State College, Mercer University, NCR, and Shiji). He loved to travel, taking his family to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. He also loved to go fishing and play chess with Branden and his father. His favorite gospel songs were “Come on In the Room” and “Don’t Move My Mountain”.
