Marvin graduated from High Point Central High school and continued his education at Davidson County Community College, where he received his degree in Ministry. He was a dedicated employee at Valspar Corp, where he worked as a material handler.
Because of Marvin's love for the Lord, love for humanity, and gentle nature, he was respected and touched every person's life he met. In his leisure, he enjoyed watching wrestling and old movies and spending quality time with his family and friends. In addition, he was an avid sports fan of his favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Nelson Little; grandmother, Marie Fair Nelson McDonald; grandfather, Excell McDonald and father figure, Arthur Nelson. Those left to cherish his memories are; his son, Marvin Donte Douglas (Elizabeth); daughter, Charity DeArriel Nelson; sister, Juanita Nelson Little Williams; grandchildren, Makayla, Xavier, Keyonna, Tiannah Douglas, Atori, and Amir Lee; one great-grandson, Andre Anderson, III; mother figure, Alphenia Davis Nelson, three special children whom he raised, Crystal, Troy, and Timmy Floyd; special aunts and uncles, Joe and Sarah Nelson Baker, Clarence and Rosa Nelson and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
